Nuptials in the time of COVID

We are happy to welcome a new year. As with the rest of humanity, 2020 was a challenging, disruptive, and unpredictable year here at Planterra. As the COVID-19 crisis unraveled wedding and travel plans worldwide, we were often asked: how is Planterra managing?

When the spring lockdowns in Michigan commenced, we worked with our couples to postpone their wedding dates. Of course, at the time, none of us knew that the crisis and restrictions would force the postponement of our entire spring season.

By mid-summer, we pivoted our planning to offer wedding options that complied with local rules and COVID protocols. This provided couples the choice of a smaller event in 2020, if postponement was not appealing.

Even though the rules on gatherings changed, often on short notice, Planterra’s protocols on sanitation, social distancing and mask requirements remained constant. The situation required us to be fluid. We adapted to capacity limits, event layouts became more spacious and designs incorporated outdoor space.

Throughout all of this, Planterra continued to provide services to our clients. We also maintained continuity with our team. Our management, design and event production team remain intact and ready to take on an especially busy calendar of weddings this year and into 2022.

Understanding that 2020 has challenged everyone in different ways, we are thankful to have clients, staff and vendors with such cooperative spirit, so we together we can accomplish the shared vision of beautiful weddings.

We all have much to look forward to in this new year. From all of us at Planterra, we wish you good health and a very happy new year.
